Karen W. Handel has named former U.S. Transportation Secretary John C. Nolan as her new chief executive officer.
Nolan, who served as deputy secretary of transportation under President George W. Bush, is also a partner at the law firm Hogan Lovells, a senior adviser to the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and a former Georgia secretary of state.
The announcement comes two weeks after Nolan was appointed to the position of president of Secure Transportation Group, a national company that manages transportation security and security-related technology.
In a statement, Handel said Nolan is an experienced and trusted leader.
“He will be a strong advocate for the security and safety of our nation’s transportation infrastructure and I look forward to working with him to ensure that our transportation systems are secure and secure for future generations,” Handel added.
Norman is the third person to lead the Secure Transportation group.
In 2012, he became the first U.K. secretary of the Treasury to be appointed to his current post.
